Madrasah of Amir-Tur

Back

Amir-Tur’s madrassah is situated in Ichan-Qalla’s northern part amidst dwelling houses. It was founded in 1870 by initiation of the brother of Muhammad Rahim-khan II and after his death madrassah was named. The main facade owns a high gate with two-storied arcade of wings and octahedral niche. The other facades’ high walls as well make illusion of two-storied planning. The external decoration is seemed to be very obvious. Majolica is approachable just on corner angular cupolas, to say more exactly guldasta and their domes. Even nowadays hudjras’ windows have Ganch lattices called pandjaras.
